Building company Varaks Construction has carried out the construction works for the foundations of lightning protection rods at a photovoltaic power plant in Dobrich area. The works cover site preparation, foundation construction and all necessary activities to ensure the strength and stability of the foundations.
The construction stages include:
Excavation for the lightning protection rods foundations, including manual shaping of the excavation and temporary storage of excavated soil on site;
Levelling and compaction of the base;
Installation of two layers of geotextile along the bottom and the sides of the excavation;
Backfilling with gravel under the foundations;
Levelling and compaction of gravel;
Backfilling with gravel around the foundations;
Supply and installation of polyethylene membrane prior to concreting;
Installation and removal of foundation shuttering;
Supply and installation of prefabricated steel reinforcement cages for the foundations, including spacers;
Installation of a grounding component connected to the foundation reinforcement;
Installation of the base section of the lightning protection rod mast, secured to the foundation reinforcement;
Concreting of the foundations, including transportation of the concrete to the construction site and pouring with a concrete mixer pump.
The completed foundations provide a stable base for the installation of the lightning protection masts and contribute to the reliable operation of the photovoltaic power plant’s lightning protection system. High-quality execution of the earthworks, reinforcement works and concreting ensures the required strength and stability of the foundations, contributing to the long-term durability and service life of the structures within the solar park.
Construction work on the foundations for lightning protection masts at a photovoltaic power plant in Dobrich area began with the precise setting-out and marking of the site. Mechanical excavation was carried out for the foundations with the work commencing in stages, starting with a single foundation. Once the mechanical excavation had been completed, the construction workers manually trimmed and shaped the excavation.
The team from Varaks construction company installed two layers of geotextile along the bottom and sides of the excavation. The prefabricated steel reinforcement cage for the foundation was then delivered to site and installed. The steel reinforcement structure was subsequently positioned. The reinforcement cage was carefully lowered into the prepared excavation with the construction workers guiding and controlling its positioning.
